Many ATHENA objects (standard parts, sheet metal sections, membranes, insulations, etc.), which have been produced with earlier ATHENA versions, are updated on opening the drawing or when editing the object so that they are compatible with the latest ATHENA techniques. For this reason these objects cannot then be processed with older ATHENA versions.
Editing drawings with different ATHENA versions is definitely not recommended.
From the version ATHENA 2015, information held in the form of a speech balloon appears when you open a drawing which contains objects from a later ATHENA version.
